From making trash to making treasure! A first generation American, I am very influenced by my Brazilian heritage. The brilliant colors, and the freeform lines of nature juxtaposed against the architectural lines of man-made design (traditional to Brazilian art) are the elements, that really energize my creative juices. As a child I loved making art with my hands and I knew that one day I'd become a professional artist. After earning a degree in Graphic Design and achieving a successful eighteen-year career in the advertising print industry, I became frustrated with the fact that all my work (print advertising) was being tossed away once read. In 2002 I discovered the art of wire jewelry. I immediately fell in love with the medium. The colorful gems, the geometrically cut stones, and shiny metal wires brought a new excitement to making art again; art that would be treasured, enjoyed, and never tossed away. Each piece of Susy Jewelry features natural stones and gems artistically wrapped in recycled precious metal wires.
